The program began at 9:30 AM with a warm welcome from the school principal, who highlighted the importance of Guru Purnima and its significance in Indian culture. She encouraged students to honor and respect their teachers, not only on this day but throughout their lives.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the school management, teachers, and student representatives. A melodious Saraswati Vandana was performed by the school choir, filling the atmosphere with positivity and devotion.
A series of cultural performances followed, including:
- Classical Dance: A mesmerizing Bharatanatyam performance by students of Grade 8 depicted the guru-shishya (teacher-student) tradition in Indian mythology.
- Speech Competition: Students from Grades 6 to 9 shared heartfelt speeches in English, Hindi, and Marathi, expressing gratitude and narrating the pivotal role of teachers in their lives.
- Drama: A skit performed by students of Grade 10 depicted the life lessons imparted by teachers and the impact of their guidance in shaping successful individuals.
The highlight of the event was a felicitation ceremony where students presented handmade cards, flowers, and tokens of appreciation to their teachers. The principal, in her closing address, reminded students to uphold the values taught by their mentors and to cultivate a lifelong thirst for learning.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a student representative, followed by the National Anthem. The day was a memorable one, leaving an indelible impression on everyone present.
