Report on 79th Independence Day Celebration

The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great patriotic zeal and enthusiasm at Holy Cross International School, Boisar West, on 15th August 2025. The entire school campus was adorned with the colours of the national flag, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride.

The celebration began promptly at 8:20 AM with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by the students, staff, and guests.
The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Darshan Sankhe, Retired CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector, who was warmly welcomed by the school community. In his inspiring speech, Mr. Sankhe shared his experience serving in the Central Industrial Security Force and emphasized the value of discipline, patriotism, and dedication towards the nation. His words deeply resonated with the students and staff.

Fr. Henery Pereira, the Manager and Principal of the school, also addressed the gathering. He spoke about the importance of freedom, the responsibility that comes with it, and urged the students to be the torchbearers of a better and stronger India. He also appreciated the efforts of the staff and students in organizing the event with such devotion and spirit.

The celebration included cultural performances by the students, such as patriotic songs, dances, speeches, and skits that reflected the rich heritage and struggles of our country’s freedom fighters.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets to all students and attendees. It was a memorable and inspiring day that reminded everyone of the sacrifices made for the country’s independence and the need to preserve it with unity and integrity.
